• The easiest thing to do would be to place green candles or green and white candles in your fireplace tealights or candelabra!
• Another easy thing to do is buy ribbon at your local craft store decorated with green shamrocks. Tie the ribbon around the base of some or all of the green or white candle cups in your fireplace tealights or candelabra. When you light the candles, keep an eye on them and make sure they do not burn all the way down to the ribbon.
• Except for the shopping time, this is as easy as the first suggestion, above. Craft stores, dollar-priced stores, and internet candle sites and have some adorable candles shaped like leprechauns, shamrocks, and even little pots of gold! Intersperse these cute candles among your other green or white candles, and you will have eye-catching St. Patrick’s Day decorations for your fireplace.

 EASTER

It’s time to put away winter decorative accessories and bring out the decorative accessories for spring and Easter. 

• Remember, when it gets too warm for a real fire this Spring, your fireplace candelabra or tealights is the perfect way to have fireplace flames without heat.
• Daffodils in crystal or glass vases on each end of your mantel bespeak the coming of Spring. Tie a wired chiffon ribbon in a soft spring hue in a bow around each vase for a nice touch. 
• Another Easter decorating trick with crystal or glass vases, or other glass containers such as glass canisters or brandy snifters, is to fill them with Easter eggs. Wooden, ceramic, plastic, or glass eggs work well. Jelly beans in spring hues, either alone or mixed in with Easter eggs, are also delightful on a fireplace mantel in a glass container.
• March a line of fluffy chicks across your mantel. Five or more chicks, whether stuffed toys, porcelain hens, or craft store chickens, make a cute display.
• And speaking of stuffed toys, now is a great time to find those old stuffed bunnies and ducks and turn them into mantel ornaments. Add Easter grass, and scatter decorated eggs along the mantel to keep them company.
• Tie wired gingham-checked ribbons into bows, and attach them to the edge of your mantel. Let the ends of each bow hang down various lengths from one to three feet. At the end of each ribbon, open a plastic egg, tape the ribbon's end inside the egg, and force the egg shut. This creates a set of eggs dangling at different heights.
• Leaving wooden craft store eggs unpainted gives them the hue of natural brown eggs. Screw tiny cup hooks into each end of several unpainted wooden eggs. Tying 6 to 12 inch pieces of wired organdy ribbon in a spring color between each egg, create a garland to adorn your fireplace mantel. This makes a great country look! For a shabby chic look, paint the eggs a crackled white, and for a more elegant look, paint the eggs and use wired velvet ribbon.
• Bring out your glass, crystal, white, and pastel candle holders of different heights for your mantel. Select a trio of springtime colors such as lavender, pink and eggshell or aqua, pale green, and soft yellow. Use pastel candles in some of the candle holders. In others, perch decorated Easter eggs (real, plastic, wooden, or glass).
• Candle-eggs come in a delightful variety of sizes and colors and include everything from the simplest plain white, speckled brown, or robin’s egg blue candle-eggs to fancy, multicolored, traditional Easter egg designs. Look online and in craft stores for candles in the shape of eggs for your fireplace candelabra.
• Also look for candles in the shape of rabbits, the Easter Bunny, baby chicks or ducks, and spring flowers for your fireplace candelabra. They instantly perk up your not only your fireplace candelabra but also the whole room with a joyous Springtime air.
